Geology of the Lizard

One of the reasons for this visit, was to explore the interesting geology of the Lizard Peninsula.
Besides of many other interesting Minerals, there are occurances of Serpentine in different colours.
The Lizard Serpentine Company built a factory at Poltesco in 1855 which operated until 1893. Then the competition of marble which is much more durable than serpentine was too high.
